We understand that a collective voice is stronger than a lone voice. We engage in debate regarding the impact of significant legislation affecting our members and have responded to a number of consultation papers on behalf of our members including the Collin Bloom Report and have been in negotiations with HMCSTs to find a solution to the restrictions of articles of faith in Court.
It is true a network can be just as valuable as net worth if not more. Many members receive referrals of work or recommendations from their fellow members.
All our events promote and hold Sikh values to the highest degree. All events are alcohol and meat free and many events are family and child friendly. Sikhs in Law is keen to promote the Sikhi principles of Gristi Jeevan.
Through Sikhs in Law, members have the opportunity to connect with lawyers and potential clients in other jurisdictions. We hosts multiple trade visits and exchange programmes, providing links to new markets and strengthening ties with professionals from across the world. In 2023-2024 alone Sikhs in Law has hosted delegations as far afield as India, Malaysia, Canada and USA.
Sikhs in Law provides the opportunity to discuss and debate issues affecting members through regular networking events.
The Society is an internationally recognised and respected organisation which attracts high level sponsorship and engages with the broader business community. Including other think tanks such as Sikhs in Academia, Sikhs in Health Care and Sikhs in Finance.
Sikhs in Law provide conferences, seminars and soft skills training that are relevant, informative and value for money.
The Society raises awareness of pro bono volunteering opportunities available to our members including our very successful pro bono initiative “13 Community Clinic”, invited to sit on review committees, panel events for students and mentorship opportunities.
